  • The 30 Fl. N.E. Purdey is a popular centerfire rifle cartridge developed by the English firm of James Purdey and Sons in 1904. It was designed for use in their line of sporting rifles, and has since become one of the most widely-used cartridges among British hunters and shooters.The 30 Fl. N.E. Purdey is fairly unique compared to other cartridges of its caliber as it uses a flat-based bullet rather than a boat-tail style, allowing for greater velocity and improved accuracy at long range. Its trajectory is also flatter than many traditional European cartridges, making it ideal for taking longer shots on smaller game animals such as deer or foxes without having to worry about drop off or over penetration beyond the target area.Ammunition for the 30 Fl N.E Purdey can be limited but there are several suppliers that offer various options in different weights ranging from 150 to 180 grains. These are usually loaded with soft point or hollow point bullets which make them particularly suitable for hunting applications where maximum expansion upon impact is desired to ensure clean kills with minimal suffering inflicted on the animal being shot at.
