- The .300 AAC Blackout, commonly referred to as the "300 BLK" or "Blackout", is a modern intermediate rifle cartridge developed in conjunction with Advanced Armament Corporation and Remington Defense in 2009. Designed to provide increased terminal performance out of short-barreled firearms while still allowing rifle platforms to accommodate standard NATO accessories such as suppressors and flash hiders, it has since gone on to become one of the most popular choices among shooters looking for an effective short range cartridge.Offering excellent accuracy potential from quality rifles equipped with optics, this rifle round is capable of taking down large game animals like deer and elk out to 150 yards while still being relatively easy on your wallet. Select ammo manufacturers also offer loads specifically tailored to subsonic velocities - making them ideal candidates for suppressed applications where sound suppression is paramount.
