- The .310 Cadet Rifle is a bolt action rifle chambered in .310 Cadet, a proprietary cartridge developed by the British firearms manufacturer E.M. Reilly & Co Ltd. The rifle is designed with a shortened stock and barrel to make it more suitable for young shooters or for use in tight quarters such as inside an aircraft or other small spaces.
The rifle features a 22" barrel and weighs only 5lbs making it an ideal first-time shooter's gun while also being suitable for adults looking for an easy-to-handle firearm that won't strain the shoulders or arms. It utilizes rimmed brass cartridges of length 2.25 inches which are available from various manufacturers in both conventional lead/jacketed bullets as well as soft point types ideal for hunting applications.
The .310 Cadet Rifle is considered by many to be one of the most accurate and reliable guns available in its class, though it lacks the power of larger calibers such as .308 Winchester or 30-06 Springfield which can often require longer barrels for optimum accuracy at extended ranges.
