  • The .369 Nitro Express is a big game hunting cartridge developed by James Purdey & Sons, a British gunmaker. It was introduced in the early 1900s and is based on the .400/350 Nitro Express cartridge, which was developed by John Rigby & Company.

The .369 Nitro Express cartridge uses a rimmed, bottlenecked case that is typically loaded with a 270-grain bullet. It is designed for use in double rifles and bolt-action rifles, and is considered a versatile and powerful cartridge suitable for hunting large and dangerous game such as Cape buffalo and elephant.

Today, the .369 Nitro Express is a rare and specialized cartridge that is primarily used by big game hunters and collectors of antique firearms. James Purdey & Sons still produce custom rifles chambered for this cartridge, and it can be found from a few other gunmakers as well. It is important to note that the use of such firearms and cartridges may be subject to legal restrictions in some countries.
