  • The .45 Blaser is a centerfire cartridge developed by Blaser in 2004 for use in their R8 bolt-action rifle. It was designed to be a high-performance cartridge for hunting big game at medium to long ranges.

The .45 Blaser has a bullet diameter of .452 inches (11.5 mm) and a case length of 2.165 inches (55 mm). It is a powerful cartridge capable of taking down large game like moose, elk, and bear at distances of up to 400 meters, with a muzzle velocity of around 2,800 feet per second (853 m/s) and a muzzle energy of around 3,600 foot-pounds (4,880 J).

The .45 Blaser has a unique case design with a rebated rim, which allows it to fit into a standard-length bolt-action rifle action. This makes it easier to handle and reload than many other big-bore cartridges that require a longer action.

While the .45 Blaser is not as widely used as some other cartridges, it has gained a reputation among hunters and shooters as a highly effective cartridge for long-range hunting. It is also used in some shooting competitions, particularly in Europe where Blaser rifles are more common.
