  • The .460 Steyr is a large-caliber, centerfire rifle cartridge developed by the Austrian firm Steyr Arms in 2004. It was designed to address deficiencies of the .45-70 Government and provide greater energy and range capabilities for wild game hunting.

The .460 Steyr is an improved version of the .45-70 round offering superior ballistics performance in medium-to-long range applications. It features a higher case capacity which results in higher velocities, flatter trajectories compared to other rounds with similar bullet weights.
