  • The .480 Ruger is a large-caliber, centerfire revolver cartridge developed by Hornady and Sturm, Ruger & Co. in 2003 for use in their Super Redhawk revolvers. It was designed to provide factory ammo with greater effectiveness than other cartridges when used for hunting large game.

The .480 Ruger has a large case capacity which results in higher velocities, flatter trajectories compared to other rounds with similar bullet weights. It offers excellent accuracy and consistent performance from the Super Redhawk's 5-shot cylinder.
