  • The .500 S&W Magnum is a large-caliber, centerfire revolver cartridge developed by Smith & Wesson in 2003 for use in their Model 500 revolvers. It was designed to provide factory ammo with increased power for hunting large game or for personal defense.

The .500 S&W Magnum has a large case capacity which results in higher velocities, flatter trajectories compared to other rounds with similar bullet weights and offers excellent accuracy and consistent performance from the Model 500 platform.
