  • The 10.3 × 68 Mag cartridge is a magnum cartridge that was introduced by RWS / RUAG in 2017. The 10.3 × 68 Magnum caliber is considered a further development of the 10.3 × 60 mm R (previously used mainly in the Swiss canton of Graubünden). The cartridge was developed by Peter Vonow and was first presented by him as .413 Vonow at the IWA OutdoorClassics trade fair in 2015. The cartridge has been available from RWS since 2017. The aim was to develop a cartridge that is suitable for hunting all European hoofed game as well as for hunting African big game. By specifying the 10.3 mm caliber, it is approved in the Swiss canton of Graubünden, where a minimum caliber of 10.2 mm is required for hunting with firearms. In order to make it suitable for different types of game, the cartridge is available with bullet weights between 13 g and 26 g. Due to the large bullet cross-section, the increased stopping power should also be advantageous when hunting weaker game - such as roe deer.
