6.5 x 72 R

The 6.5x72R is a powerful centerfire rifle cartridge that was developed in Germany by RWS in 1894. It is based on the .275 Rigby but with a shorter case length and slightly lower pressure than the original. It is often chambered in double rifles and combination guns for use on medium-sized game such as wild boar, red deer, and mouflon sheep.The 6.5x72R has a muzzle velocity of 2200 fps (670 mps) with 85 grain bullets when loaded to full power or 1600 fps (487 mps) when downloaded to normal factory specs.
