- The 7x49 GJW (7x49 GJW) is a high-performance rifle cartridge developed by German gunsmiths J.G. Wurff and Gerd Wurff in the early 1990s. This round was designed to offer increased velocity, improved accuracy, better energy transfer and flatter trajectories than other rounds of comparable caliber.
The 7x49 GJW offers reliable performance with shorter barrel lengths, flatter trajectories and excellent ballistic coefficients due to its higher velocities. This results in less drop and “drift” compared to other rounds when shooting at long distances, making it an ideal choice for competitive shooters looking for precision accuracy.
For general hunting or varmint shooting purposes, the 7x49 GJW provides plenty of power to quickly take down your target with ease while delivering remarkable performance even at long distances. So if you're looking for a rifle round that provides superior accuracy and power the 7x49 GJW should definitely be considered as an option.
