- The 7.65 Para (.30 Luger) is a type of medium-sized pistol cartridge developed in Germany during World War I, and is still widely used today. The 7.65 Para (.30 Luger) utilizes an 89 grain full metal jacketed bullet that produces velocities over 1,000 feet per second at the muzzle with an energy level of 481 ft/lbs – making it a powerful and effective pistol round for close range engagements. The relatively low recoil also makes it suitable for use in semi-automatic pistols, greatly increasing its rate of fire compared to more traditional revolvers chambered in similar calibers.Since its introduction in 1900, this cartridge has become one of the most widely used handgun rounds in the world – being adopted by numerous militaries and police forces around the globe as their standard service firearm’s cartridge of choice. It is also popular amongst civilian shooters who want a more powerful option than most conventional rimfire cartridges while still remaining controllable enough to be used without too much difficulty or training requirements.
