I cannot find anywhere here in the UK to buy Remington Core-Lokt in .243cal so I want to reload the hundreds of cases that I have here, can anyone tell me what VihtaVouri N140 grains I need to use(I am new to reloading)I use a Remington 700 and it doesn't seem to like any other brands, unless you know a brand that may work to save me going down the reloading route. Thanks in advance.....Martin

Martin,
I neglected to add the image:
This is quite helpful, you can set a standard 'case trim to length', 'overall loaded round length', my experience with reloading .243, they will stretch. I shoot and reload a fair amount of 30-06, basically the same case as the .243, I find I trim more .243, more often, than 30-06, and .25-06.
Enjoy your shooting!

Hello Martin,
I have here some load data for your .243 Winchester casings. using the VV N140 powder. I've taken the liberty to add an image of the dimensions of the 243 round, I hope you will find it useful, also some recommendations for finding a repeatable, accurate load.
Hornady 87 grain bullet, Large Rifle Primer, VihtaVouri (VV) N140 Powder: Start = 31.6 grains, MAX = 36.3 grains
These loads were tested in a 23 inch (584mm), 1 in 10 inch (1 in 254mm) Twist, Test Barrel;
31.6 grain load produced 2,592 feet/second (790 m/s),
36.3 grains load produced 2897 feet/second (883 m/s).
This load information came from my Hornady Reloading Manual and I verified it through VihtaVuori (VV).
I suggest to start with 5 rounds at the STARTing load powder weight, then increase the powder charge by 5%, load 5 more rounds, repeat this, increasing the powder 5% until you reach 10% below the MAX charge value.
Fire those rounds in the 5 round groups, for accuracy results. The actual point of impact doesn't matter, the consistency of the 5 shots grouping closely is what you are looking for. If you do not find 'pleasing' grouping with any of the 5 round groups, load 5 rounds at the MAX weight minus ( - ) 5%, and 5 at the MAX powder weight, see if those loads give better consistency results.
If you have any questions or comments, please, do not hesitate to ask, I'll respond as soon as I can.
Lastly, please let me know how your results come out.

What bullets do you have available as option to use with your 243 win cases?
Hello Martin,
I am a new member, just learning my way around the site, but I have a number of years reloading experience, everything from black powder, rifle, pistol, shotgun, even including a .243!
Suggesting powder charge (sic, weight, in grains), without knowing the bullet weight, is not only dangerous, but truly not possible to do. I am hopeful, since your inquiry was posted some time ago, I think (still learning the site), you have found a source for the .,243 bullets you need, or intend to purchase. If so, please post in a response here, the manufacturer, weight, and design (sic, shape) of the bullet. I'll be glad to share some reload data with you.
Best regards,
Rayman
