We will shortly activate the rest of a major update to our load database. The update consists of
10 new calibers : .408 Chey Tac, 6.8 Western, 7.65 x 25 Borchardt ...
over 300 new bullets from existing and new manufacturers - i.e. SUS-TAC, Reichenberg
over 500.000 new loads from appr. 50.000 new bullet & caliber combinations
Thanks to everyone who shared actual pressure and velocity tests. It tremendously helped to finetune our models. We have also adopted and optimized all our powder/simulation models. This has an impact on all our existing loads which - in most cases - is marginal. More relevant changes appear for loads where the weight of the powder charge is relevant concerning the bullet weight.
Inner ballistics is quite a complex matter. We knew for example that there are energy losses from accelerating the propellant/powder charge together with the bullet. The impact can only be assessed by comparing actual pressure and velocity tests to our simulated load data. We have done this over the last two years at quite a magnitude and also considered feedback that we have received from our community. As a result, we have adjusted our powder/simulation models to our learnings and we will continue to do so. The new models will be set live shortly.
Enjoy our updated database and services and send us feedback on how we can improve.
Thanks
